santa fe ftw!
Santa Fe Tex-Mex food in celebration of Ling's 21st! My version is here and Bekah has uploaded hers to the
clique blog. Btw this is the exact same post that I'm going to publish on both my blog and the clique blog, lazy what, hur hur hurrrr~ =x
OOOOOOH TORTILLASSSSS~
Mozarella sticks!! These were like really CHEESY cheese sticks. :D

My half-priced herb chicken. Wheee~ 赚到了~

Veggie Fajitas, the zucchinis rock!! (Damn the mushrooms, haha)
The left part of this Chicken and Beef Fajitas has Ling's name written all over it. SOMEONE claimed that she can eat more chicken than any other one of us with the exception of Jing Chuan. Which is really unfair cos Ber and Mich has small appetites, I'm cutting down on meat intake, Renny and Xian are vegetarians and Bekah eats a large variety of food rather than a lot of the same thing. SOMEONE play cheat lo~
To go with the food into the wraps. Their sour cream KEELS.

Ahahahahaha I like Ber's expression.

The birthday cake. This is one of those cakes that ALL of us LOVE. :DDDD (by the way we were waiting for Ling Yi for SO LONG LA. SOMEONE went to the toilet for so long we had to keep relighting the candles =x)

Whee~ <3~

We're hungry people. We're greedy people. We're food lovers :D

Haha Xian your expression!

Xian is acting cute AGAIN~

Enemy vanquished. Good job girls. >:D

Ber's insistence to be part of every photo!!

HAHAHAHA Look at Xian in one of her laughing fits because of Ber.

Once she starts, she can't stop! (Sounds like some advertisement slogan)

This is half my assigned workload in 2 weeks :D *stabs NUS*

I like the shocked expression and Yi Xian's SINISTER one! Hahahaha!

Videos on Jill
No time to upload Santa Fe pictures yet! Will do it by end of next week x___x
I really can't believe the amount of injustice digital cameras do. Jill and Renny were both smashing, but if you watch the videos Bekah and I have posted on them, you won't be able to appeciate their talents as much. Grrrr I need a good V8 for all those live gigs I go to!!
This first video is the later half of Jill's Fire Medley. I feel like banging my head against the wall for not taping down her Rainbow Connection. Best one I've ever heard out there. *drools*
Alternatively, the direct link to the video is
here if you can't get it to load properly on my blog!
Second one is one of her original compositions. It's a sweet sweet song! ^_____^
Direct link to this one is
here!
Gah I want to hear her sing Smoke on the Water!!!!!!!! *looks forward to stalking her around in her April gigs*

SNGS Last Chillout - My version -
For Bekah's version, visit
her blog :D Especially for the group photos we took in the classroom. :DDDDDD For the line dance, it's been uploaded and posted in
daclique's blog. :D
The super spacious canteen of SNGS, the one thing every St. Nicks girl is bound to miss once they graduate! :(

The not-very-appealing stage for the event =x

Renny, Xian, JC and Blackforest Band (:
(Ernest did some stupid post later but too bad I had already taken the picture =x)

All the pictures from the SN yearbooks from 1985 all the way until 2008~

Brings back memories, Hopians? :D

Mrs Tan's picture effect is sooo cute! X3

Uncle Mobeen's drink stall!!! It's always a comfort to know that even if you're staying late in school, Uncle Mobeen and his sons + grandsons are always patrolling the school and ensuring the girls' safety.

An interview with our beloved principle!! Why did our batch have to be the first batch to experience a St Nicks without her?! T__T She's SOOO CUTE lor!

In the canteen - we suck at taking pictures of ourselves =x

Now this was better :D

More shots of the most spacious school canteen ever:

All the clique people who turned up for Last Chillout! Love you girls. XD

That's Bekah's hand by the way.

And this must be one of the most unglam pictures of my qingren. OMG. =.= (That's my hand by the way)

I love random shots that capture the mood and characteristics of each of us. :D

In the background: Ang Chor and Renny's parents :D

Cheeky Ernest

We've all missed Blackforest Band! And I love your voice Renny, you were smashing. :D Oh, and I loved how all the guy trees in BF wore shades. That was so cute. :D

And my latest crush: Jill! As I said, she's totally the girl version of Deep Purple. Her voice is sooooo fantastic. I'm her official fangirl now!!!!! *drools*

Her version of Rainbow Connection was SOOOOO good!

And somehow, I really like this picture. :D

Ling pretending to play the piano at the family lounge~

And the "haunted staircase" that was being reduced to a makeshift storage place for the event:

Our ex-classroom!

And coincidentally........... :D (JC who's your secret admirer?!)

We missed you balcony!!! We missed you lockers!!

Renny and Ling fooling around in the balcony~

OMG the centre parting + Renny's expression is PRICELESS. HAHAHAHAHA

Look at what one of the students did - she brought her own mini fan to school and targetted at the fan at herself!! What's more, she actually had the fan placed on the TEACHER'S TABLE!! Hahahaha nice one!

And look how high-tech SNGS has become: (Back in our days we had so little visualizers, and almost all our teachers didn't really know how to operate them)

But the good old OHP was still around (and I have the feeling this is the exact OHP that we used back in 2004)

Hahahaha while all this drama was going on, Ling was doing dunno-what at the windows.

And that's it for my version of SN Last Chillout! I might find time to upload Jill's videos later on, but that is provided that I have time. I'm supposed to be doing work now but I spent too much time captioning the pictures, AND I need to wait for my hair to dry before I sleep. AND I need to wake up at 7am, woots. So, I'll be uploading the pictures of TODAY'S dinner at a later date. Before that I'll also find some time to upload Jill's videos. I have 2, one on the later part of her Fire medley, and the other one is one of her original compositions. I loveeeee her voice. :D

There is no doubt about it.
I've come to a realization.
That I'm no longer the most special one to you. That this distance and this time has finally set it, that it is finally.... time for me to let go of my feelings for you. Before this, I was still unsure of how I felt from time to time.
Now, there is no doubt about it.
Someone needs to tell me how to get over this. I don't know how I should regard you, how I should talk to you, I don't know if I should even bother.
Because you don't need me anymore. Because.... other people are there for you where I can't be. Because I no longer have that special spot in your heart. Not that it's anybody's fault, just that.... this was probably meant to be from the start.
You were once the centre of my universe, the sole reason for my existence. I felt so strongly for you that perhaps I've lost myself in the seas of such emotions. I have blocked out so much, not because you asked me to, but because my world was too full of you to take in much of anything else. And now this is the fix that I have landed myself into willingly.
With this realization after seven long years, can I still be the real me?

our road in audition
Yep it can be a bit lame at times, but the life of a married couple can be exciting and interesting too. And I really like a number of the wedding rings there are~ =x
This post is dedicated to my tabor, without whom I would be still wasting time over worthless guys in AuditionSEA. (Singapore what, what you expect sia?!)
First off, of course, is our wedding~
Everyone said I hack leh, no lor, I didn't okay!! Look at the ball!

I think the heart in the middle is quite cute (:
Ah Sun got the wedding bouquet~

Tada~ Our first ring!

Despite the chaotic times, we carried on with our first love party (the song sucked big time)

....And achieved the hideous second wedding ring. D:

Forming a team together with our beloved Leina~ (This was the one and only game she played without dc-ing that night, lol)
And a legendary 1 million score for couple mode! As all can see, I didn't contribute much. =x
Finally the long-awaited love party to get rid of that golden daisy ring and clinch a ring that both of us liked!!
Oh and I got paranoid and went through "training" for this love party, only to find out at this exact moment that ----- we trained the wrong song. omgwtfbbq hahahaha.

Although it makes me lag more than usual, I really like ballroom mode in Audition. The moves are nice~~ *ignores criticisms and insults*

Clap clap! 21 syncs~~ Woots~

See the ring? It's so nice right! Now we shall relax, enjoy ourselves and slowly march towards the future rings~!
And finally, I lurbe you Ophira tabor! Thanks for doing this with me~ :D

history
History has opened up a whole new world for me. It made me reflect more and more about our lives as humans. It allowed me to attempt to put myself in the shoes of other people. Because of History, I've gained a greater understanding about how worthless, fragile, short and unpredictable our lives are. Wars have plagued the entire human history, and yet we are still blind to our shortcomings, we are still stupidly fighting amongst ourselves.
Singapore is, honestly, a very peaceful country. The little we have been through makes our history almost like a joke compared to other countries. How could have our people known what it was like to be under post-war trauma? What kind of psychology and mentality would be needed for men to kill fellow human beings without even blinking their eyes for years after years? What did it feel like for your entire community to join wars and then having to watch all of them die on the battlefields? What was it like to laugh and make jokes about deaths?
It was almost impossible to understand. Why would people give up their lives to fight for their region, their country, their race, their ethnicity, their religious beliefs, their ideological beliefs, or even for their loyalty to others?
Why is there such a sick and distorted interest of the living people in the whole idea of "death"? Why is it that lives can be seen as what was needed to be exchanged in order for political leaders to achieve their demented goals?
War. How long would this word continue to haunt the billions of homo sapiens on the surface of the Earth? How long would it take for people to abandon this word?
In the past, I studied History without much thought to these questions, although I did spend substantial amounts of time thinking about life and existence. History was critical thinking to me, it was a way in which I could work out arguements and show that nothing was as simple as it seemed, nothing was inevitable. I loved History because it triggered my thinking so much. Data, facts and information were all provided to me, and I just did the thinking and argument-formulation. And this continued all the way until last year.
But somehow, this year I began pondering. What was the true purpose of History? History is not a discipline to enculcate critical thinking and analysis skills in its students. History, in essence, was the study, and reflection, of everything that has happened in the past. It needs to exist because people are not reflecting, people forever take things for granted, and people cannot ever really put themselves in the shoes of other people. Throughout this semester, I've felt the agony of those people fighting in wars, those non-fighters who suffered in wars. I've put myself in the shoes of people who have been killed, people who have lost their loved ones, people who have been betrayed by their loved ones. History was no longer something about argument-formulation based on historical data. History was a record of human life, events, emotions, and lingering problems.
Documentaries. Secret documents. Videos. Poems. Songs. Paintings. Photographs. All of people killing off each other, or of people planning to do so. What first appeared in my life as mere words were now showing their true faces to me through these medias. It was disturbing, to say the least. But it was also inspiring. I would have never felt more in touch with History if not for the exposure. To me, History is no longer a mere subject; it is my world view.
I am lucky, for I am born in Singapore. We've enjoyed much peace with numerous conflicts and fighting, but compared to Europe and pretty much the rest of the world, I think we are really, really fortunate beings. I thank Prof Michael Kelly (my "rocker" prof), Prof Malcolm Murfett (I've finally come to terms that I AM his fangirl after all) and Prof Wang Jianli (my cute prof for Chinese History) for giving me valuable lessons on life. Not only my life, not only life in the present, but life in all contexts, for all of the human race.
As I learn about conflicts and developments, and how war has really shaped the way in which all of us live, I know I should appreciate life more. Life is transient. Sometimes the things that happen are really imponderable, but that is the way it is. Human lives are fragile, human relationships are brittle, and there is never a definitive thing. We never know when we'll die, we never know when our loved ones will die. We never know when people might turn their backs on us, we never know when a disaster will strike.
At the end of the day, I want to be a more mature person. I want to live my life to the fullest, without any regrets. As I said before, this is my life and this is my story. Being hung up on the nitty gritties of everyday happenings will not only be demoralising, but also a complete waste of my time. There are bigger and more things to focus on. Rather than spending my time grumbling about people, I would rather spend that time thinking about life, existence, and ultimately, "meaning". And most of all to enjoy myself with the people I love and whom love me back.

Pictures and... BABY!! (:
Okies first off some more pictures to add to PX's trip to Singapore in January. (This is going to be yet another pictureful post) After this I *might* find time to filter the pictures from Xian's birthday chalet and make a post about it!! Oh and also, I'm insanely busy with work. I just blogged to take things off my mind for a while. Won't be free until next weekend. *sighs*
At the Japanese pub which WH works at.

This was when PX came over in February, took a picture with my mobile camera and I forgot about it =x

I was picking up my sister on her way back home from work, and there was this rainbow in the sky. Small pretty things like that perk me up no matter how down I may be. (:

And finally.... Last Sunday the baby turned one month old! Pictures pictures :D

She's SO CUTE!!!

<333333333333333

And she's still so tiny~

This is what my fourth aunt bought for the baby. It's super huge LOL~

<3 you darling, please don't grow up to be like *some* people, alright? I'll watch over you as much as I can, it's my promise to you~
